My friend has 2 young sons. Her oldest son is 6 and was diagnosed with AS about 6 months ago and her other son displays behaviors that would suggest AS as well although he is still to young to officially diagnose. A geneticist has worked with their family and suggested a genetic link particularly with boys in their case. They are having another baby and just found out that it is another boy which means this child will have a fairly high chance of having AS as well. Their oldest son is able to attend Kindergarten in a regular classroom although he has difficulty making friends and has many behavioral issues. Occupational and other therapies have really improved his condition, though. He's really a sweet boy, just misunderstood by most everyone that doesn't know about his condition. It's interesting to hear your perspective as an adult. Thanks for sharing.

I have never heard of this condition before, but I wonder if I might have it in a limited manner. I experience many of the symptoms that you mentioned daily. Thanks for the information.

It could be - sleep and schedule are common difficulties. I am prescribed a sleeping pill by my doctor. I don't always take it - I should though.

I think my mom also has the same problem. She could not skip the routine. She used to get up at 5.30am in the morning and where ever she goes for vacation also get up at the same time. At home she starts looking at the clock from 4.30am every 10 minutes to get up at 5.30am lol. She wants us to be in the dining table at 9am otherwise she becomes restless and anxious and now at the age of 61 started to have sleeping pill for some sound sleep. After reading your post only I knew the name AS, and am pretty sure my mom is suffering from AS.:(
