I saw a post somewhere on the internet about these devices and was intrigued. I am a pack a day smoker, and I have tried to quit, but failed miserably on each attempt. When I saw that you could “smoke” healthier, I was very skeptical. Since I’m an electronic geek however, I thought it would be fun to try anyway.
There are three main components of an electronic cigarette. There is the cartridge, which contains a solution of mostly nicotine and water. Then there is the atomizer, which creates the vapor you inhale. The last component is the battery, which also contains the LED at the end.
When I first heard about these I asked a few questions. Why don’t more people use them if they work so well? The answer I found: Not many people know about them, there is very little advertising. Cigarette manufacturers certainly don’t want you to know about them, you’ll stop buying their product. There also may be something with the government, they want to continue to receive tax dollars from all the cigarette purchases. (Not sure about this one, just something I have read)
I am very pleased to tell you that smoking from an electronic cigarette almost perfectly simulates real smoking. I am simply amazed. The only real difference you will notice with this particular model, is that it takes quite a bit more inhaling to get a good “hit” compared to a regular cigarette. This could probably be remedied by trying out different models, I’m sure some produce tons of vapor, and almost perfectly emulate a cigarette.
The amount of time a cartridge lasts is kind of disappointing, I popped one in at 4PM and by 8:30PM it was done. However, I have purchased 60mL e-liquid that should get here fairly quick. I may have to rely on analogs for a little while till it gets here. Battery life seems decent enough, it’s still going strong after 4 and a half hours of use. I will update with a more full review of this particular e-cig once I’ve used it longer. Expect me to be trying out a few other models and listing the reviews here as well.
Do I think this will become a big hit in the near future with smokers everywhere? Yes I do. How can you go wrong with something that feels and tastes just like a cigarette? One exception! There is no other chemicals to harm you. No more tar, no more staining your teeth, the walls, no more smelling up the entire room when you smoke, and no more mess with ashes. How can you go wrong? My mind is made up, I’m going for the switch.
Remember, most do not advise that you use electronic cigarettes to try and quit. They are too similar to real cigarettes. I know it might sound like I am marketing or something, but I’m not. This is the truth.
Anyway, if you’re a smoker, and feel the need to switch to something healthier, I would say electronic cigarettes are going to be your best bet.
If you’re thinking of switching, you might also want to check out http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ They seem to have the largest e-cigarette community

Awesome :O If I ever feel the need to try smoking I’ll definitely look into these >_>
I wouldn’t touch cigarettes, e-cig or not Rise. Nicotine is highly addictive..
I need to get myself some e-liquid so I continue to not touch regular cigarettes.
I want to add that, I have now received my e-liquid, and the DSE901 is now producing much more vapor. It’s like the carts I had that came with it were half empty. Very happy with my e-cig. I’m still curving off the “Analogs” (real cigarettes), only smoking about 3-5 of those per day, compared to my 20+ usual. I’m very happy that I’m able to do this so easily, I think I will be smoke free soon

I received my DSE901 on monday morning and havn’t touched or even been tempted to smoke a real cig – and was a 30 a day man. Fantastic product!
It’s not just the government doesn’t want to because it will lose the tax money, it’s that the pharmaceuticals don’t want it because it will eat into their nicotine gum and patches market, which so far hasn’t been successful in getting people to stop smoking, but the pharmaceuticals have as much influence on this market as do the cigarette companies, maybe even more these days since its likely pharmaceuticals might have been key in getting the smoking ban idea up and running, in order to sell their products instead. Frankly, I wish e-cigs would take off like lightening and put both the big pharmaceuticals and tobacco companies on notice. This is probably a good product to use, not just to find a healthier way to “smoke” and still enjoy nicotine, similar to what caffeine is for coffee drinkers from what I’ve read, but also a good way to fight back against big pharmaceuticals and big tobacco both – write letters to the Congress, start a campaign to keep e-cigs not only legal but to be advertised on TV, sold in the pharmacies and grocery stores, wherever pharma and tobacco sells theirs – drive them both out of business – pharma for not providing what people want and using dirty marketing to ban tobacco and soon try to ban e-cigs – and tobacco for not cleaning up their act when they had 100 years to do so. Good luck to the e-cig companies and good luck to anyone using e-cigs who stand up and fight the government if they try banning e-cigs next. Seems to me like e-cigs would be the wisest way to go of all three products out there.
I haven’t smoked a real cigarette in almost five months now. I started off with the smartsmokerusa out of the UK. I still think the smartsmoker is the most durable. Then I bought e-smoke.net. I love the two piece unit instead of the 3 piece. The adomizer is built into the cartridge so no pulling the cap off putting little cartridges in that only are equivalent to maybe 6 or 7 cigarette’s. I also bought one called NUPUFF. So far the NUPUFF is holding up strong and is very durable also the battery hasen’t gave out on me in two weeks like the e-smoke. The important thing is my taste buds are working again, my nose is working again, four months ago I coulden’t run to the end of the drive way and i was out of breath. now I can run like Forest Gump and i dont get outta breath. Im in the process of becoming a distributor I believe in this product so much. Im just worried the gov. will take them away or the FDA will do something to stop this amazing product. I smoked for over 30 years about a pack a day and I cant believe the difference in just 4 short months. There not for every smoker but for me I will never touch another tobacco cigarette. Respectfully Troy k Dawes.
You should try out the high voltage mods. After awhile I found the dse901 penstyle wasn’t quite strong enough for me, but I now have a prodigy v2 (5v) and GGTS I run at 6v, with 510 atomizers.
I did fall off the boat after writing this post because things kept dying, however this time I took it much more seriously and invested some cash. Been off cigarettes for 1 month 4 days or so, and I don’t see myself going back to cigarettes.
Yea, I would be pretty upset about the FDA or GOV taking away ecigs. I feel so much better even though it’s only been a little more than a month.
Keep vaping
DSE901 is great cigarette for the money. I definitely agree with that.
