How to Save Money By Shopping Online

May 22nd, 2012 No comments

In almost all instances, things come cheaper online. This is for a lot of different reasons but it boils down to a few. There’s no real amount of theft to worry about, things can be more streamlined and faster, you don’t have a bunch of people in your store to worry about, storage is more efficient, and a lot of the time people do not pay sales tax in the US.

But to find the really, really sweet deals online you need to dig quite a bit.

#1 Slickdeals.net

This is a general forum where all the deals come together. Most of the time the reasons for the discount is that A. they want to bring people into the shop to buy more stuff, referred to as “loss leaders” or B. they want to get rid of extra stock very quickly.

#2 eBay

You know about this one, almost everyone does. It’s always good to take a glance at eBay though their deals have gone away A LOT recently mostly due to PayPal overcharging sellers, forcing higher prices.

#3 Cragslist

Look at your local listings before buying things. Local listings can be a gold mine for good deals.

#4 Beezid

Beezid is more of a “fun” type of way to save money, but you have to be careful. It’s a different kind of bidding model.
