I’ve been enjoying windows 7 on my new notebook! when I am finished testing our system’s compatibility to 7 and find it OK will be the official time for us to upgrade from xp to 7.

guess this will our next favorite OS.

I’m sure there’s plenty of places where you could download it other than Microsoft.. So I guess the answer is yes, it’s still available.

I’ve downloaded the 7 beta awhile back, and still haven’t gotten around to burning it. I did the same for Server 08, thinking I’d turn that into a workstation like Mike, but I’m still with XP, being the bum that I am. I find dual booting to more of a bother than a convenience, as well, otherwise I’d tack on some form of *nix to my setup.

Ubuntu 8.10 is a very nice OS. Once you get used to I think you’ll enjoy it

Vista - YUCK! Actually, what I did was to setup and run Windows Server 2008 as a workstation. Step by step instructions are available at win2008workstation.com. I was forced into making a change as I was running XP and then my machine died, I went to re-install XP on a new hardrive and the media was defective and I could not load it - MS would not give me a new XP media, even though I had a license / certificate of authenticity. I just picked up a magazine at the newstand last night with Ubuntu 8.10 - I think I will give it a try. Very nice site. Thanks Mike Paulin’s last blog post..Lightning Travels in Snow
