Dropping EC? Possibly. Less extreme use of EC? Yes.

I’ve been getting tired of the EC dropping, I think I’m going to take it easy from now on and just visit blogs, and drop as I want. I’ll still always drop certain blogs that have been dropping me for quite awhile, but that’s about it.

ExtremeTechie I may drop a little more, maybe 300 for a little while  since it’s just starting out, but I’m not too worried about traffic to this site anymore. I get some from search engines and advertising. Constant dropping of 300 cards a day is tiresome, and it provides very little good traffic to my site. I know a lot of people that now read my site came from EC, but I’m finding it’s just not worth it to stress over dropping all the time.

In due time I may completely drop EC from this site so I can use some other advertising. That might be awhile yet, and like I said I will continue to use EC, but not to the extreme extent I was.

I expect my popularity rating to plumet, but I don’t really care much, popularity rating really doesn’t mean anything.

A bigger reason is that I was finding dropping EC was taking up too much time, time that could have been spent blogging. So, I’m trading EC dropping for more posts on the site.

I had a problem spending too much time dropping. I have 6 blogs, so it was a problem.

I drop on my top droppers (under statistics) and the daily droppers (or at least first 50).

Yes, your popularity will go down, but you will gain time to spend on your blogs and social networking.

    Good luck to you.

Yea, that’s basically what I was thinking. I think at this point, EC has served its purpose of getting my blog at least somewhat recognized and on the search engines. Will definitely be spending more time on social networking & posting.

I do this for fun, and EC dropping seemed a lot like work. :)

I agree totally. EC traffic is drop and scoot traffic. I find it worthwhile to spend the time reading other blogs and commenting on them. I only return comments and use ec for advertising. That helps me maintain a reasonable level.

I don’t drop sometimes mostly because I’m too busy at the time, but right now I stick to 100 drops for this blog and 50 drops for my other blog. This is much less than my old 600 drops total for both sites. Still trying to figure out whether or not I want to resume dropping 300.

I used EC to find blogs that have interesting content. I then visit the blog, read posts, and comment if I have something to contribute. Then, I will drop on my way out. I might do 10 drops in a day if that. I look for traffic to come to my blog, but if they are just coming to drop and take off, I would rather have traffic that will stop for a visit and read the posts (they might lean something.

Entrecard can get to be a bit much. Good traffic though, no doubt about that. Still, it’s much more enjoyable getting actual feedback from people, rather than seeing they just clicked on your blog for a few seconds.

Last time, I dropped over 80+ a day but now not anymore, I seldom drop EC. It is better to use the time to blogging, like what you said.

  9. I have made two rules for myself.
One is to drop 15-20 daily
    Or,
Sit one day and drop till I am tired.
Yes, it generates traffic but yes, it is tiring.
The world of internet is enormous.
All one need is continuity, punctuality, sincerity and work hard attitude. Traffic will follow. I am sure.

EC is good when you first start out and have zero traffic so your not losing your mind your writing to yourself on your blog… I bookmark those that I like, or have been loyal to my site, and that’s it…. I just dont have the time. How people drop 300 a day is beyond me. Good luck everyone.. James
