irc should be up I’m on it right now. I had to switch IP’s around on the VPS (The old IP is getting dropped soon) so that’s why it was down.

I saw this little clip where Eric Schmidt (Google’s CEO) suggests you alter your scandalous behavior before you complain about his company invading your privacy. I bet his robot overlords weren’t too happy about it…

You are so right! We will pay the penalty at some point. And Google isn’t the only issue, people (including me) are getting sucked into linking their accounts all over the place – making their online identity very transparent, while at the same time we all will end up having no overview of what we have shared with whom. I realised this when I reviewed Gist (http://www.samrag.com/first-look-gist-new-way-to-see-your-network/), as when I imported my contacts Gist was able to find out so much about them.

I think the biggest question in the coming years will be, HOW can we monitor and control our exposure on the Internet.

People are still amazed that AdWords tracks keywords in you gmail inbox and ‘personalizes’ ads accordingly…

These new tools are only massive personal data leaks waiting to happen, and we are way past due for something like that from Google.
