I’ve tried, and I’ve tried, to win the elusive bag of crap. The only time I buy things from woot is during a woot off. I’ve bought 2 mice. Every single time I see the bag of crap, the server crashes. It seems as if it’s impossible to win. I don’t know, maybe it’s related to my internet connection. I will be trying for a bag of crap later today though, because they usually come up around 4-6PM eastern time. Woot.com seems to have the same items over and over throughout the woot, and often have the same items for each woot off. Still, I find it highly addictive.
If you want to try to get the bag of crap, I recommend you download wootalyzer from wootalyzer.com it automatically updates the current item, shows the page, has an alarm, and generates an estimate for when the current item is going to end.
Don’t get too caught up though, I did a few times and it leads to being sleepless. Just remember, the general time for the bag of crap is 4-6PM eastern. Sometimes they pop up at other times, but I have yet to see it happen. The deals on the woot off are generally pretty good, around 50% off retail, so if you see something you want grab it quick, because items that are decent usually only stay up for a few minutes.

I know the feeling – I’ve barely missed out on this like 3 times. The woot-off going on this afternoon was rapidfire – they even changed the message on the default woot widget for Vista to read ‘Jerkface, you are refreshing this too often.’ LOLZ! Viva la W00t!
