You want to know the secret? THERE IS NO SECRET. Any site that says there is a “secret” is lying. How you get traffic is very obvious.
- ADVERTISING, ADVERTISNG, AND MORE ADVERTISING
- SEO – SEO is very important for driving targeted traffic to your website, continuously. This is where quality content comes in. If you have good ranking in search engines, you’re all set. You won’t need to spend a dime. It’s very difficult to get good rankings, however and it’s best to start with ADVERTISING.
That’s about it. There’s no real “secret”. If you have a lot of money, it’s quite easy to setup a high traffic site. Right off the bat. Just use something like adwords. However, there are some services out there for those of us that don’t have thousands of dollars to spend on advertising.
- Entrecard – You’ve seen me talk about this before, it works to a certain point. I’ve gained some readers from this service
You also get a chance to connect with a lot of different people that blog. You’re not alone. I say entrecard is worth it. - Adgitize – I haven’t tried this personally, but I know it’s probably worth the $14 a month. I did some poking around in TechByPC’s traffic stats on ProjectWonderful, and I saw it definitely was hauling in some traffic. (TechByPC you can have me remove this if you want)
- ProjectWonderful – Cheap advertising, you just have to know how to work with the system. You can get 100s of clicks very cheaply if you know how to work with it. Finding sites that are within your target niche can be difficult. It’s best to try and find new sites that were just listed that have high traffic – ads are very cheap at that point.
You see ads on my site. I’m not doing this to annoy you. I’m not doing this to make money. So why are they there? They’re there for my own advertising. I can make a very small amount from having these ads there (except entrecard) and that money goes to advertising for this site.
Conclusion
Getting traffic can actually be quite easy. If you have thousands of dollars laying around you don’t know what to do with. I notice that a lot of blogs exist only because they’re trying to make money. I hope they’re ready for disappointment, because to make money you have to have traffic, and to have traffic you have to spend money.. Yea it doesn’t make much sense. Let me know if I missed anything. I know this isn’t on topic very much, but when you’re trying to promote a site all the time you blog about it as well.

[...] The secret to getting LOADS of traffic… This is not an advertisement [...]
Nice post, my new year’s goal for my blog is to establish a good traffic stats and I’m currently using the two sites you mentioned.
That’s a weird trackback.. I’ve been getting a few of those lately.. strange.
I use EntreCard on several of my blogs and have picked up some decent traffic. The best traffic is from new readers that get involved and leave comments of course, and sometimes EntreCard shorts me a little on those. I’m sure I have picked up a couple loyal readers though from my EC exposure.

Currently, I’m only using EC and I’ve been playing with Project Wonderful.. I think I might throw in Adgitize as well and see how that goes.
Thanks for stopping by and dropping your EC cards on me and plese bear with me for Im slow in doing this dropping EC Cards but I do always eventually get back to those who do drop them on me and drop them back as a courtesy. So I will be back. Yu do have a nice site here. I would have gotten that project wonderful also but it says you hve to pay fees also and I have no money in my paypal account if the need arose and I had to pay I could not so I decided to forget about tht project. But your right you need traffic in order to succeed. Stop by soon and thanks.
No problem. I drop drop drop drop drop on entrecard
I pay more attention to those that leave me comments though
Project Wonderful you only have to deposit as much money as you want to advertise with. There’s no harm in signing up though, you can still bid on adverts that are currently free.
I only put in $5 to see how it works. So far it seems alright, though I don’t think it’s very targeted traffic, I’m not quite sure about it.
I do have a drop guide somewhere on here, though it may be limited by your internet connection and memory, should be in the tutorials section if you want to check it out.
Thanks again
I broadly agree, however for most website startups investing lots of money on advertising is not an option. Use tools like keyword elite to find a niche that atracts visitors but is not too competitive, get a domain name that implies your niche, optimise your site to the limit, get lots of links to your website via article marketing, posting comments to blogs & forums – especially those with higher page rank. These things will make your website position rise in the search engines – and you can monitor your traffic quite well for free with google analytics. As foryour observation – you are quite right, the higher your site is positioned in the search engines the more traffic you will receive. But to actually make sales – your content, advarts, banners and keywords all need to be very relevant to what your visitors are seeking. All this is no secret. You can find it all over the web, but for your business to have website success you will also need to invest a lot of hard work, determination and focus.
