I’ve only been sitting on this thing for 5 or 6 hours, but so far I notice it’s about 9000x more comfortable than my old chair. Comfort may not actually be the “right” word for the chair. It’s more like I can sit in it and not have my back screaming in agony. I work from home so I spend many many hours in my computer chair. For the first time in a long time, I’m not hunched over looking at my computer screen. I’m actually sitting upright. That’s what these ergonomic chairs are made for, to make you feel comfortable with good posture, and not hunch over everything and feel like crap.

I really have NO idea why I didn’t get an ergonomic chair earlier. I’ve been on the computer for extended periods of time since I was about 10 years old. Always using crappy wal-mart chairs, that were NOT designed for what I was doing. Even when I did have money, all of it went to processors, video cards, speakers, monitors, and nothing went to my chair. The chair remained a POS from wal-mart at all times.

Now that I’m 19, I’m starting to feel some back issues develop. Those 9 years on wal-mart chairs for countless hours are starting to take hold. However, I think with this chair those problems may go away completely. (Only very slight pain from leaning over all the time has developed)

Anyway, the best way to describe the feeling of sitting on the Knoll Life Chair is “good”. Mine has adjustable arms that go up and down and side to side, which I would recommend. I think these are “High Performance” arms. Adjusting the height of the arms along with forward/backward and side to side really comes in handy depending on how you’re sitting or want to sit in the chair.

The seat moves forward slightly depending on how you sit on it, and you can slide it forward or backward as much as needed. You can of course lean back in the chair as well, and adjust the tension.

Overall, I have to say I’m super happy with this chair, it’s the first time I’ve felt comfortable sitting at my desk in years (No joke.) Even though I did not pay retail for this chair and bought it at an eBay auction, I think it’s actually worth the retail price of $808.

I was actually very scared of ordering a chair online without trying it out in person, and the only reason I got the knoll life chair was because of the auction and I didn’t want to pay more than $400 for my chair. Unfortunately, there really aren’t any shops nearby that sell “performance” task chairs. I was going to get the steelcase leap, but so far I’m glad I didn’t. This chair seems perfect for me. I really like the breathable back, and steelcase doesn’t have that.

Conclusion

Finally, a chair I WANT to sit on.

Update

6/16/10 – After sitting on this chair for a few months, I can form a more full opinion. My opinion hasn’t really changed – it’s still the best chair I’ve ever sat in. My back has not hurt since getting this chair. It makes the couch seem uncomfortable due to less ergonomic support Has also shown no noticeable wear, usually by now a $100 chair would have plenty of wear.

Definitely worth every penny.

Back when I got the DSE901 & Janty Dura-C I didn’t really see myself going back to cigarettes, however I ran out of liquid, my atmoizers died, batteries, etc and guess what? I ended up smoking again for another year almost. Now I’m back on ecigs, and so far so good. It’s been about 5 days, 1st day I had 2 cigarettes, 2nd 1 cigarette, 3rd half of a cigarette 4th none, 5th none. This time I went more “all in” because I bought 2 devices 5 back up atomizers and a lot of e-liquid from various places.

What 2 devices did I order? Well from the old days, I remember really liking the Janty Dura-C which recently I found out that’s a 510 atomizer. There’s a cheap version out there called the Joye 510 now, and it works just like the Dura-C I had way back when. However, that’s not what I bought.

I bought a Protigy V2 and a Janty eGo. I’m thinking about doing seperate reviews for both these models, really all I can say is I really enjoy the V2 with a 510 atomizer. It’s been what I mainly use, much stronger vapor and taste compared to the eGo (which is still a great device, compared to the old DSE901 pen style I first got.) Oh yea and I also decided to get a T-Tip from SuperT Manufacturing. I hated always taking off the tip to drip, since that’s all I do. This thing works great, and seems much better than the plastic crap. I actually ended up with juice in my mouth more often with the plastic stuff than this T-Tip, it’s awesome.

My overall goal with e-cigarettes is at the very least completely switch, and at the most stay on them for a few months and slowly down my nicotine intake, and the *final* goal would be to completely quit nicotine. That may or may not happen, because I’ve tried quitting before, and I can’t make it more than a day, I end up feeling like total crap. I guess if I were to not do ANYTHING for a couple months then it might be possible, but as it stands, I wouldn’t be able to be productive in my life for at least a few months, maybe more after quitting cold turkey.

As far as whether or not E-Cigarettes are safe, in my opinion putting a couple chemicals in my mouth and lungs is far safer than putting thousands. Also, as far as I know there’s very little cancer causing chemicals in e-cigarettes. The ones that are there are from the nicotine which was extracted from tobacco, but in VERY small amounts, about the same amount of cancer causing chemicals you’d find in nicotine gum or the patches. Tons less than real cigarette. So from that, I’m not too worried about it. In fact it seems blatantly obvious to me that they’re most likely much much healthier for you than cigarettes. Which is the point for me switching of course, I just figured I’d give an explanation for those who have been brainwashed by the FDA, pharma, and tobacco companies. They all of course have reasons for hating electronic cigarettes, but it all comes down to money.

Anyway, that’s my plan, and oh yea cost is going to go up very slightly for me.. I used the roll your own tobacco and it was very cheap. However, I know that’s about to change since they’re going to raise taxes higher on everything soon, so cost is actually going to be much lower in a little bit.

Lesson here is never start smoking, it’s a real pain

I always like it when CPA networks send me stuff, the latest is a flip mino camera from clickbooth, which is pretty awesome. It’s small yet takes decent video. I hate carrying bulky things around for video really, and sadly (even though I could easily afford one) I don’t have an iPhone or anything, mainly because I don’t use the phone enough to justify the monthly costs.

So this will work perfectly for me, took a small video of me playing tetris on tetrisfriends…

Also gotta thank MarketLeverage for the gift cards they’ve sent over the past few months. Haven’t sent much revenue there lately, but I probably will in the future. Bought some clothes with those gift cards

Lots of people seem to think this lifestyle is easy going, well it’s not. Let’s just clear that up right now. All sorts of stuff goes wrong all the time. If you think you can just sit around on the beach and make money without lifting a finger, it doesn’t work that way.

Affiliate Marketing in a nutshell: Test, Test, Test, Analyze, Analyze, Analyze, Test, Test, Test, Analyze, Analyze… That’s really all there is to it, I mean in simplified terms. Of course this comes more into play for ppc/paid traffic type stuff, which is basically all I do. SEO/EMAIL is basically the same thing, but maybe a little different. I’ve done SEO in the past, but email is on my list of things to learn.

I work with a couple different people, adnetworks, affiliate managers, and some other people that help with design etc on my landers. I have to keep track of my funds on a daily basis, and analyze campaigns currently running, daily. More work pops up when I start a new vertical, this is an entire new project and requires lots and lots of work, tweaking, and money to bring money back.

The longer you’ve been working with this stuff, the better you get at it, period. It takes experience. No eBook, guru, or whatever is going to give you a handout, and even if they do once that dries up will you be able to get something new going on?

Affiliate marketing isn’t for everyone, just as being a doctor isn’t for everyone. Personally, I enjoy it though, something new to work with everyday.

This post reminds me that I need to get my affiliate marketing blog up and running.. I shouldn’t post this on my tech site

I’ve taken these personality tests when I’m bored, sometimes I’ve seen the INTP show up, but more often than not it’s INTJ. I have also taken more extensive personality profiles and INTJ is the outcome. So what is INTJ? According to Wikipedia,

One of the rarest of the sixteen personality types, INTJs account for about 1% of the population.

I also have Asperger’s Syndrome, I like to label this as a personality type as well. I may not even have it, maybe I’m just INTJ. Sounds a bit like denial however since I was diagnosed with it when I was 5 years old. AS makes up about 1% of the population. So, what percent has AS and an INTJ personality? It’s not a high percent Seems as if I’m definitely a minority.

Anyway, on to INTJ.

INTJs are strong individualists who seek new angles or novel ways of looking at things. They enjoy coming to new understandings. They tend to be insightful and mentally quick; however, this mental quickness may not always be outwardly apparent to others since they keep a great deal to themselves. They are very determined people who trust their vision of the possibilities, regardless of what others think. They may even be considered the most independent of all of the sixteen personality types. INTJs are at their best in quietly and firmly developing their ideas, theories, and principles.

Yes that does seem to describe me fairly well. I love new ideas and love to brain storm.

INTJs apply (often ruthlessly) the criterion “Does it work?” to everything from their own research efforts to the prevailing social norms. This in turn produces an unusual independence of mind, freeing the INTJ from the constraints of authority, convention, or sentiment for its own sake… INTJs are known as the “Systems Builders” of the types, perhaps in part because they possess the unusual trait combination of imagination and reliability. Whatever system an INTJ happens to be working on is for them the equivalent of a moral cause to an INFJ; both perfectionism and disregard for authority may come into play… Personal relationships, particularly romantic ones, can be the INTJ’s Achilles heel… This happens in part because many INTJs do not readily grasp the social rituals… Perhaps the most fundamental problem, however, is that INTJs really want people to make sense.

Yes I have never been a real social person to be honest. That’s pretty apparent no matter what since I have AS.

Masterminds tend to be much more definite and self-confident than other Rationals, having usually developed a very strong will. Decisions come easily to them; in fact, they can hardly rest until they have things settled and decided. But before they decide anything, they must do the research. Masterminds are highly theoretical, but they insist on looking at all available data before they embrace an idea, and they are suspicious of any statement that is based on shoddy research, or that is not checked against reality.

Keirsey refers to an INTJ as a “Mastermind”. Anyway, I do a ton of research on every single thing I do. Then I apply whatever idea I think would work best, but I have many back up plans if that one fails. That’s a perfect description of me. I never, ever embrace an idea until I have done the proper research.

In education they are most often found at the college and university level. In the professions, they may be a lawyer, a business analyst, or strategic planner. Some have a strong artistic/creative bent and may become an artist, inventor, or designer. Whatever they do, they do it with intensity.

Well I don’t know about that, my line of work right now is headed towards programming and affiliate marketing.

This guy reads off the entire description from Keirsey, if you don’t want to read through

Unrelated Note

Anyway I know I have been going off on a lot of affiliate stuff lately, but remember the title of this blog is Technology Insanity, the insanity part meaning that I may go off on who knows what.

Not long ago I was contacted by BestCovery.com to become an expert on their website. I accepted their offer and have completed one list so far. The site itself is very cool. If you’re looking for a product, they have “best” lists already set up, by people like me that know a lot about the subject. I browsed through a lot of their lists before accepting the offer, and a lot of them are very good. So, if you want to buy something and aren’t in the mood to do a lot of research BestCovery is a very good option. Right now my only list is the “Best Processor for Overclocking.”

I’ll be working on another list for them tonight. I also might be working with GadgetReview.com posting news or reviewing some products. We’ll see how that goes. I’m going to get back on track with this site and work on some possible reviews/tutorials soon. I have a tendency to really go in every which way on this site and not sticking to a specific niche, that would allow this site to grow more. Mostly because I post about what I’m currently doing, and not sticking to any particular topic.

Anyway, expect more technology/computer/internet related posts here soon.

There may be a reason why I’m so obsessed with technology, computers, and internet. I have Asperger’s Syndrome. I’ve been diagnosed with some form of it since I was about 6 years old. First diagnosis was PDD-NOS (Pervasive Developmental Disorder Not Otherwise Specified) Later in my life – when I was 15 I was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome.

Let me tell you, It’s not fun for me to be around people, face to face, unless I know you. If I’m around people I don’t know, I get anxious, I stare at the floor, the ceiling or the wall. I move to a place that is secluded as possible. If you talk to me, I may not respond, either because I didn’t notice you talked to me or the fact I don’t like to respond. It feels “bad” that’s about the only way I can describe it. Eye contact can be described as “hell on earth”. Even if I know you, I still have trouble making eye contact with anyone. I have trouble following conversations, I’m overly sensitive to noise. I don’t “freak out” over noise, like some people with worse autism, but I think I’m annoyed by it more than others. I can never sleep if I’m on a schedule, I average 4-5 hours of sleep per night when I have to be on a schedule. I have no idea if that’s even related, because Asperger’s Syndrome says you stick to a schedule. Well, that’s true in a lot of ways. I don’t like doing anything out of routine, except for sleep. I “stim” more than others probably, everyone stims, but I do more most likely. I have obsessive compulsive problems, mainly when I’m working on something difficult.

Now, do I hate AS and want it removed? No. I don’t really look at it as a disorder. I look at it more as a personality trait. I don’t blame AS for me not being able to talk, I can talk if I want. All I need to do is work on it. All of these so called problems can be remedied by work. I never ever dwell on AS being my problem, that’s stupid. Been there, done that, all it does is lead to depression.

If I didn’t have AS I probably wouldn’t be the same person I am today. So, I NEVER EVER want a *cure*. Those with worse Autism could probably use a cure. Me, it’s very light and most people do not notice it.

There are quite a few variances in AS, not everyone is the same at all. I want to make that clear. Some have worse symptoms than others. Asperger’s Syndrome, in my opinion has been portrayed POORLY by the media.

Anyway, just felt like posting that today.. Little more background about me I suppose

Wired made an article on it here: http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/9.12/aspergers_pr.html It’s an interesting read, but I think it does a lot of generalizing about AS..

On a side note, I did some more optimization on the server – I noticed it was lagging still. I’m still playing with the config, so don’t be alarmed

When you start using Entrecard, you think that the most “popular” blogs are the ones receiving the most traffic. Unfortunately, that’s not really true. Sure, they are receiving the most ENTRECARD traffic, but probably not much in the realm of traffic from other sources, this includes my blog. Popularity rating is just how many users are dropping on you per day. When I advertise on the more “popular” blogs I get more drops in turn, mainly because there are a lot of “chain droppers” out there. All this dropping is good fun, but is it really accomplishing anything? Maybe a little, but I know most people that drop me are fly by droppers. Probably most of my traffic is bounced, though google analytics says it’s not I’m going to guess the 2 page views is actually 1 analytics just records 2 for some reason. Which would mean my bounce rate is extremely high.

The thing is, I’ve seen blogs that are supposedly popular, and yet the site itself looks highly inactive That means that the only reason people are going there is for the all mighty widget, so they can drop.

I would like Entrecard to implement something like ProjectWonderful traffic stats. It’s pretty difficult to find out which sites are actually receiving traffic from other sources. Maybe I would like to advertise on a blog that’s not receiving all Entrecard traffic. It’s pretty difficult to find such a blog with EC’s current system. On top of that, the most popular blogs have an insanely high EC credit amount to advertise on, and it’s just not worth it to spend your EC there. In my opinion, you should stay below 512EC, but I’ve spent over a thousand EC on an advertisement before, just because I had extra credits and I didn’t know what to do with them. I suppose I should have gave them away

Choose wisely when advertising on Entrecard. In a way, you’re better off advertising on a ton of 2-32EC blogs, then ever bothering with the more popular ones. Unless you are trying to get your popularity rating up, advertising on the top blogs might get it up for you.

Entrecard’s system doesn’t work all that well, and that’s why a lot of people have dropped Entrecard and stopped using it completely.

Diving in deeper now. I’ve found that there are some VERY cheap VPS options, JUST AS CHEAP AS SHARED HOSTING! Soon I will be moving the site to a VPS. I don’t even know WHY ANYONE would use Shared hosting. You can have a VPS with 500GB transfer for as little as $3.95/month. I’m sold. No more shared hosting! A cost of $3.95 I can afford. Check it out! I think anyone using shared hosting should STOP RIGHT NOW. If you can get a VPS that cheap, why even bother with shared.

Soon there will be no more slow loading glitches or down time on my site. This is the end. (Maybe I’m just a control freak, I want root access to my server )

This is my last post on hosting for awhile, I swear

Thanks for not telling me that you could get a VPS so cheap.. I’m going to guess my readers didn’t know, or aren’t paying attention to my site anymore because I’ve gone off in a tangent. Oh well.

I think I’m going to go with a VPS from RapidXen.net, I may have a need for some IRC abilities.

New years is approaching, and I have been contemplating exactly what I’ve done this past year. This is what I’ve come up with, though it may not be 100% accurate, since it’s hard to remember the exact time I did…

New years is approaching, and I have been contemplating exactly what I’ve done this past year. This is what I’ve come up with, though it may not be 100% accurate, since it’s hard to remember the exact time I did these things.

Built my fourth computer

Went to an Iron Maiden concert

Learned how to code autoit scripts

Learned how to reverse and then forgot (I’m guessing this was the beginning of 08)

Watched a lot of anime. I mean a lot, Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, Yu Yu Hakusho & Full Metal Alchemist from start to finish. I caught “Anime Fever” for a little bit there.

Went to Disney World, Universal, & SeaWorld for the fourth time.

Turned 18

Launched this website.

Funny, that’s really all I can think of. I guess I’ve been kind of inactive this year, of course I always have school I go to, and I play a lot of video games, so I’m kind of unproductive sometimes. I can’t even remember what I did over this last summer. I think it was a lot of being lazy. If I remember other noteworthy things I’ll put them up, but the majority of this year I’m not so proud of

Back when I was 12 or 13 I had a big fat long list of things I did for that year that were technology related. Each year I make some progress in keeping up with the times.

I hope some of you have done more than me this year!

Goals for next year:

Graduate High School

Go to college. (I’ve already been accepted to the college I want)

Learn how to code in PHP (This has been on my list FOREVER maybe I should just give it up..)

Still have this site up and running and going strong.

I’ll have to think of other “New Years Resolutions” but I usually stick to things I can actually try and keep.
