#1 Apple iPad MC705LL/A (16GB, Wi-Fi, Black) NEWEST MODEL

You know about this one, pretty much everyone does. In the tablet arena, the iPad still holds the crown. For how much longer, no one knows. It may be a long time until a proper challenger arises, but until then Apple is king. “it just works”

#2 Apple iPad 2 PC769LL/A Tablet (16GB, WiFi, Black) 2nd Generation

iPad 2′s are being sold off in the $400 range, so at this price it’s a bit of a bargain.

#3 Kindle Fire, Full Color 7″ Multi-touch Display, Wi-Fi

Ah yes, the kindle fire. A simple little device that can handle most any multimedia. It’s not quite as versatile as Android devices, nor is it as powerful as the almighty iPad, but it’ll get the job done if you just want a simple tablet.

#4 ASUS Transformer TF300 T-B1-BL 10.1-Inch 32 GB Tablet (Blue)

This is more of a high end Android based tablet. If you want speed, flexibility and power to modify things however you choose, then this is the tablet for you. You can even pick up a keyboard dock for it.

#5 Coby Kyros 7-Inch Android 4.0 4 GB 16:9 Capacitive Multi-Touchscreen Widescreen Internet Tablet with Built-In Camera, Black MID7042-4

As far as tablets go, this is about as cheap as it gets. It’ll give you an idea of what a tablet can do, but there is much, much more powerful tablets out there. Still, if you’re on a budget, you might want to consider this one at only $125.

#1 Acer 11.6-inch Netbook AMD C-60 1GHz | AO722-0828BLK

1GHz C-series processor, 4GB of ram, 500GB hard drive, 5 pounds, HDMI port, and 7 hours battery. You really can’t go wrong with this one. The cost is also only $429.99.

#2 Acer Aspire One AO722-0667 11.6-Inch HD Netbook (Aquamarine)

AMD generally has more value than the Intel based Netbooks. This one features an AMD C Series Processor @ 1GHz, 2GB Ram, 320GB hard drive, Windows 7 and 7 Hours battery. For general tasks, this should be able to stand up to what you need to get done. Otherwise you might want to go with a more powerful netbook. This one is priced at only $359.99 though.

#3 Acer Aspire One AO722-0473 11.6-Inch HD Netbook (Espresso Black)
This one is very similar to the last one. 2GB of ram, AMD C Series @ 1GHz, 320GB hard drive, 7 hours battery.

#4 ASUS Eee PC 1015PX-SU17-RD 10.1-Inch Netbook (Red)
Intel Atom N570 Processor @ 1.66GHz. 2GB DDR3 Ram, 320GB hard drive. 11 hours battery life. If you stay away from power sources for a long period of time and just need a general use netbook, this might be the one for you. Otherwise it seems like it’s a bit costly at $419.99.

#5 Dell Mini 1012 10.1″ Netbook, Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz, 1GB, 160GB HDD, 802.11g, Webcam, Windows 7 Starter (Obsidian Black)

Intel Atom N450, 5.44lbs, 160GB hard drive, Windows 7 Starter. Fairly powerful netbook, but really in general you can do better with some of the others listed above. There’s really no reason to spend the big dough on the brand name. This one’s priced at $445.99.

Tigerusenet Review

Tigerusenet is a reseller. This means that they don’t own their own servers.

Another downfall for Tigerusenet is that they charge $21 per month, while others charge $8 or $10 per month for unlimited usenet accounts.

So the biggest problem is that you can get much more for much less elsewhere. Consider usenetserver, which owns its own servers and customer support. They are currently running a special $8/month for a yearly payment or $10 per month. This comes with unlimited access and SSL connections. You can’t do better.

For more information on usenet & binaries, refer to my usenet tutorial.

My email is Sending Spam!

May 30th, 2012 No comments

So, you’ve realized your email address is sending out spam. How did this happen?

Somehow, maybe through email spam yourself, you installed malicious software that sent your email credentials to a spammer. Either that or it is an automated spam system where if you install a program from a spam message, it will automatically send spam to all your contacts.

The best way to avoid this? Don’t install programs from email messages. Also, it might be a good idea to invest in something like Zonealarm. Zonealarm can prevent malicious software from gathering the information required to send out spam if you look at the prompts.

At this point, if your email address is sending out spam, it’s a good idea to back up all your data and reinstall windows. That’s your best solution, and be more careful in the future by using Zonealarm or something similar, like kaspersky, avg and others.
